I must have been around 7yr old and I distinctly remember my daadi (paternal grandma) being so finicky about wearing different jewellery every single day! And her bangles … were always arranged in a different way each time. She wasn’t fussy about wearing only gold or diamond accessories … but she was definitely picky about the way they were arranged.
In fact, her collection had some stunning necklaces, bracelets, gold pendants with filigree work, alongside her diamond earrings and ruby rings or ornate temple jewellery necklaces.

I often pause and wonder if my grandma’s love for jewellery was the inspiration for Bliss Beads as well …?

Grandmothers have their own special way of instilling traits and tastes in their grandchildren, which we only realise when we grow up and look back.

Today, 4 years after launching Bliss Beads, I can see how her love for patterns, gemstones and intricate one-of-a-kind bespoke pieces, has translated into my designs and entire collections.

I created this brand purely so that i could give expressions to my creativity and that vision is slowly coming to life … with every crystal I pick, every accessory I design and every piece of jewellery that comes to life, theres a bit of my “Maa” in it

This special memory was just a little introduction to my passion taking birth, way before I knew I was going to be a designer. What’s your story?
